Tests the strength of the upper back and arms.
Count the number of push-ups completed
in one minute (60 seconds).
Competitors must bend at their elbows and drop their chest to make contact with the ground. After each "dip," competitors must straighten their arms.
The body must remain straight throughout the movement for each push-up. The waist must not bend. The official will either watch to see the chest makes contact with the ground,
or will place her or his hand on the ground and count when the chest makes contact with it and returns to the full, upright position.
The number of push-ups completed in one minute (60 seconds) will be counted.
IF A COMPETITOR FAILS TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE GROUND OR TOUCH THE OFFICIAL'S HAND DURING THE "DIP," THE PUSH-UP WILL NOT COUNT. IF THE COMPETITOR FAILS TO STRAIGHTEN THE ARMS AFTER A "DIP," THE PUSH-UP WILL NOT COUNT.
