Julie Teer serves as Chief Development & Public Affairs Officer, overseeing a team of more than 100 professionals responsible for the national organization’s corporate, foundation and individual fundraising and government relations, as well as providing resource development services to local Clubs. In addition, Julie leads the strategic development of BGCA’s advocacy and public policy platforms, and assists in leading BGCA’s thought leadership strategy, board engagement and board recruitment.
Julie has led initiatives to grow and diversify BGCA’s development strategy. In 2014, the public launch of Great Futures marked the first coming together of the Boys & Girls Club enterprise – local Clubs, corporate partners, celebrities and elected officials – with a multi-tiered marketing strategy that garnered more than 1 billion impressions. Under Julie’s leadership, BGCA also started its first-ever integrated direct marketing strategy to increase national and local revenue through a sustainable pipeline of individual donors. She also led the launch of BGCA’s new Alumni & Friends Club, an ambitious plan to reengage 16 million living Club alumni as donors and advocates.
