Club Tech

Today's youth have a familiarity with technology unlike generations that have preceded them, a skill that is vital to success in school and on the job. Yet with more than 8 million young people lacking regular access to a computer, many will be left facing life-long challenges. Club Tech, BGCA’s digital literacy program, aims to make technology accessible, intriguing and fun.

To be successful in the 21st century workplace, today's youth must become digitally literate. This means more than knowing how to use a computer and a wireless phone. Youth must be able to analyze problems; access, assimilate, organize and interpret information; conduct research; and effectively communicate their understanding and interpretation of the information to with others.

In 2012, many of us take access to a PC for granted.  We may even look to find ways to decrease how connected we are. But for millions of American kids, connectivity and basic technology skills are out of reach.

Club Tech was launched in 2000 to level the virtual playing field by providing young people with the technology resources to help them perform better in school and, eventually, the workplace. Through this innovative digital literacy program, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, with the support of Microsoft and Comcast, is committed to ensuring every child that walks through our doors is equipped with the access and the skills necessary for success in the 21st century.

We invite you to join us. Like us, upload and share! Show the millions of kids who need your support that you are as committed as we are to ensuring that they equipped and ready to face the great future they deserve.
