Artist of the Month

Meet Our January Artist of the Month
Lydia has been with the Boys & Girls Club for about a year. Art is a huge passion of hers, and always adds a creative touch to anything she does.
The artwork that was completed is something called a "Plume Flower." The artwork is made from construction paper and pages from an old book. They were cut into squares and then rolled into the "leaf" shape!

What is Artist of the Month?
Ready, set, CRAFT! Each month Boys & Girls Club members are asked to submit a photograph of their best arts and crafts work to our Artist of the Month Contest. Each month will have a new theme to inspire youth and artwork should connect to the monthly specified theme. Winning artwork will be posted here on and the artist will receive a $500 U.S. Savings Bond. The artist's Boys & Girls Club will also receive a $500 award to support arts programming. The deadline to enter is the last day of each month.

How to Enter?
To enter the contest, youth must be a member of a local Boys & Girls Club. Through participation in the Club's arts and crafts program, youth will be able to collaborate with their Club staff to design, create and submit artwork to the contest.

Enter now, only on, BGCA's restricted website for Club professionals and volunteers.  Not a Club member?  Find a nearby Boys & Girls Club and learn what your local Club can offer you!

Thinking about what might make a nice gift for my children’s teachers this Christmas, I hit upon the idea to present them with a set of unique, handmade seasonal coasters. Click here
