Building on a successful multi-year partnership that has help thousands of young people learn, grow and play, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Mattel launched a new toy and game donation program to provide children with greater access to play. Called "Share the Play," the program is simple: from now through December 31, 2014, every qualifying order placed by consumers at Mattel's online toy store (http://MattelShop.com and http://Fisher-PriceStore.com), will result in a toy donation to BGCA. Through the program, up to 250,000 toys will be distributed to BGCA's network of 4,100 Clubs.
Through its ongoing partnership with BGCA, Mattel has helped the organization create more opportunities to provide kids with access to play and fun. Child development begins with play, and Mattel is committed to supporting Boys & Girls Clubs in its mission to help millions of kids around the country.
BGCA is proud to partner with Mattel to provide more opportunities for Boys & Girls Club members to learn, grow and most importantly, play!
About Mattel Philanthropy Programs
At Mattel, we believe in the power of play and the crucial link between play and a child's learning and development. Through play, children develop social, emotional and physical skills while they pretend, imagine and dream.
We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to play, and as such our social impact programs are focused on allowing more children access to play. Through our partners, funding, volunteers, brand campaigns and consumer activation, we are addressing the barriers to play by providing children time to play, a place to play, tools to play and an advocate for play in their lives.
As the experts in play, we feel this is the most powerful way we can affect the most change. Whether it's on the playground or at home, Mattel is there to ensure that children play. Visit http://philanthropy.mattel.com/ to learn more.
