The Symantec Foundation, a corporate advised fund of the Silicon Valley Community Foundation, is a proud supporter of Boys & Girls Clubs of America and its STEM programs. Recognizing the importance of introducing our young people to science, technology, engineering and math, Symantec worked closely with BGCA to develop a partnership that encourages progress in the STEM arena across the Movement. Symantec’s funding includes support for a STEM Super Session at the 2013 National Conference in Orlando, helping local Club professionals understand the importance of incorporating STEM activities into the Club experience and sharing best practices. Symantec is also offering 10 mini-grants to local Clubs who are trailblazers in STEM, awarding them for programs they have been able to develop on a local level that have had the greatest impact on our youth. Ultimately, these programs and outcomes will be shared across the entire BGCA Movement. Finally, Symantec is enhancing content, encouraging our Club teens to further explore career options in STEM. Symantec volunteers across the U.S. will also be offering their expertise and hands-on assistance to local Clubs.
