Calling All
Campers: Tupperware and Brooke Shields Kick Off Camp Confidence
Tupperware Brands Corporation launches a virtual camp for women to
boost their self-confidence and that of their friends
New York (June 4, 2008) – Tupperware
Brands Corporation Chairman and CEO Rick Goings and Chain of Confidence
campaign spokeswoman Brooke Shields are encouraging women around the country
to get a confidence boost at Tupperware’s Camp Confidence. The online
program is a new extension of Tupperware’s Chain of Confidence campaign
which launched last spring and celebrates female friendships and the
intangible results of those relationships and supports Boys & Girls Clubs of
America’s (BGCA) SMART Girls program. Camp Confidence kicked-off today in an
urban camp-themed setting at the famed Time Warner Center in New York City.
Last spring, Tupperware conducted a survey to determine the most significant
source of women’s confidence. Recently, Tupperware took the findings from
the original survey a step further and commissioned a national opinion poll
to learn more about what makes women feel confident. The new survey,
conducted by Kelton Research, showed that an unprecedented 98% of women feel
more confident about themselves if they have a healthy relationship with
friends and family members.
Health and wellness, finances, relationships and beauty topped the list of
topics which women said they discussed the most.. Camp Confidence focuses on
boosting confidence in these four key life areas through a panel of renowned
experts, also known as Confidence Counselors, who provide tips and advice
for women in their respective areas of expertise. Counselors include: health
& wellness guru Bethenny Frankel, financial expert Laura Rowley,
relationship coach Logan Levkoff and beauty specialist Carie Brescia.
“The response to Chain of Confidence has been overwhelming and now Camp
Confidence will take the movement to the next level,” said Rick Goings,
chairman and CEO of Tupperware Brands Corporation and national chairman of
Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “We are thrilled to have such a talented and
passionate group of experts working with us to make Camp Confidence a
meaningful outlet in women’s lives. Tupperware Brands’ commitment to women
is not new – we’ve been offering opportunities for over 60 years. Today we
are committed to our global mission to enlighten, educate and empower women
and Camp Confidence will help be instrumental in helping us reaching our
goal.”
