Denzel Washington:  Paying It Forward
Club alumnus Denzel Washington discusses his 20 years as national spokesperson for Boys & Girls Clubs of America
Delta Sky Magazine: Denzel Washington

While in New Orleans shooting his latest film, 2 Guns, Academy Award winning actor Denzel Washington takes a moment to talk to Delta's Sky Magazine about his 20-year involvement with Boys & Girls Clubs of America as its national spokesperson.

For Washington, his role as spokesperson comes naturally. He joined his hometown Club in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., at age 5 and made friends, played sports, finished his homework, and learned to dream big. These experiences helped shape his life and have made his position as spokesperson and a member of BGCA's Board of Governors a natural extension of his Club experience.

In its 2012 Philanthropy 400 report, The Chronicle of Philanthropy placed Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the No. 1 position among youth organizations for the 19th consecutive year.
