Ernst & Young
Ernst
& Young, a global leader in professional services, was the exclusive sponsor
of the four-year college tour experience and a related training session on
preparing for post-secondary education at this year’s National Keystone
Conference, April 2-5, 2009, in Atlanta. Later in the year, Ernst & Young will
facilitate a Webinar on post-secondary education preparedness for BGCA’s state
Youth of the Year winners. Ernst & Young also supports Boys & Girls Clubs
through community engagement efforts in their 100+ local offices in the United
States.
During the summer of 2008, corporate interns worked together to build 100 bikes
which they contributed to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida in Orlando.
They also joined forces with Boys & Girls Clubs and PBS to help improve math
literacy and problem-solving skills for school-age children through a dynamic
after-school program which matched volunteers with Boys & Girls Club kids in
Cleveland, Dallas, Minneapolis and Washington, D.C.
At Ernst & Young, community engagement means volunteerism and charitable giving
– and their strategy connects the two to each other while linking both to the
business they are in. Hundreds of Ernst & Young professionals have contributed
their time as mentors, tutors, board members and volunteers at Club events
ranging from summer camp picnics to career nights. Across the Americas, they are
committed to increasing access to education; and in the U.S. and Canada, they
are focusing on access to higher education, especially for disadvantaged and
minority students. Ernst & Young takes both a national and local approach to
improving education access through charitable giving, sponsorships,
not-for-profit affiliations and volunteer programs that support their people in
their community relationships.
