Hewlett-Packard Company
Hewlett-Packard Company's alliance with Boys & Girls Clubs of America builds upon a belief that every child should have access to better opportunities and educational experiences. Over the years, Hewlett-Packard has made a significant investment in BGCA, by enhancing its technology communications to better deliver programs and services to children throughout Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide. The company donated technology products in excess of $2 million to support BGCA's network infrastructure and operations. This technology initiative expanded the operational capacity for the national headquarters in Atlanta, its regional centers and local Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, resulting in increased communications, information sharing and access to the Internet.
During 2000, Hewlett-Packard evolved as a major partner in additional technology initiatives at BGCA. The company provided funding and computer systems to create 10 technology centers, located
inside existing Boys & Girls Clubs across the country. These pilot centers serve as models for effectively deploying technology in local Clubs and reflect Hewlett-Packard's commitment to promote greater access to technology and the Internet for youth.
Hewlett-Packard also has invested in BGCA's Child Safety and Protection program, developed in collaboration with the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
