James Avery Craftsman

As a specialist in finely crafted jewelry emphasizing strong design, James Avery Craftsman understands the value of creativity and artistic expression. With this in mind, the family-owned retailer is sponsoring BGCA's National Fine Arts Program, which promotes creativity and art for young people.

James Avery LogoThe Fine Arts Program advances a variety of media, encouraging artistic skills and cultural enrichment. Artwork from four age divisions and 10 mediums go through a series of local, regional and national judging and exhibitions. The 37 national winning images are previewed at BGCA's annual National Conference. Thereafter, the artwork goes on tour for one year, resting finally in a virtual gallery on BGCA’s public Web site, www.bgca.org/programs/finearts/. Of the 37 nationally recognized images, three best in show finalists will go on a creative tour of Avery's in-house jewelry studios, graphics department, woodwork shop and architectural area to experience real life careers in creativity.

Established in 1954, James Avery is a family-owned jeweler that offers high quality, and typically hand-crafted jewelry in sterling silver, gold and gemstones. James Avery Craftsman, Inc. has more than 50 retail stores located in Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Colorado, and Louisiana. Based in the Texas Hill Country, James Avery maintains over 1,100 designs in the active product line. Each design is originated by skilled men and women who hand-craft jewelry in the James Avery design studio. Designs selected for the main product line are then crafted by artisans primarily located in the Texas Hill Country.
