PowerUP: Bridging the Digital Divide
PowerUP: Bridging the Digital Divide is a unique partnership that provides underserved youth access to technology and the guidance to use it. Some of the PowerUP partners include America Online, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, AmeriCorps*VISTA and America's Promise. By the end of 2000, PowerUP will launch 250 technology sites. PowerUP will equip each of these new sites with partner donations including Gateway computers, AmeriCorps*VISTA staffing, and America Online accounts. More than 100 Boys & Girls Clubs will be among the first 250 PowerUP sites.
