The Sports Authority
The world's largest full-line sporting goods retailer has teamed up with Boys & Girls Clubs of America through a
four-year, $4.4 million partnership to teach Boys & Girls Club members the importance of fitness. The program, which encourages young people to participate in training, fitness evaluations and fitness events,
includes year-round, age-appropriate fitness activities culminating in regional and national competitions.
"It is important for The Sports Authority to give back to the community and there is no better way than to give the gift of fitness to the children of America," noted Marty Hanaka, chairman
of the board of TSA.
The Sports Authority directly operates 206 full-line sporting goods superstores in 32 states across the United States. Mega Sports Company operates another
41 stores in Japan under a license agreement with TSA.
