Emil Brolick

With nearly three decades of strategic and brand leadership experience in operations, product development and marketing, Emil Brolick serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wendy’s Company and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.

Previously Brolick acted as the Chief Operating Officer for Yum! Brands, Inc., (NYSE: YUM), the President of the A&W and Long John Silver's chains, and as Vice Chairman of the Taco Bell Foundation.  As COO, Brolick was responsible for driving operating excellence across Yum! Brands.

Throughout his career, Brolick has established a proven track record of driving consistent same store sales growth. He is also known for providing strong conceptual and consumer insights and driving excellence via a performance-oriented style of leadership.  

Brolick previously served as President of U.S. Brand Building for Yum! Prior to that, he was Taco Bell's President and Chief Concept Officer. Under his leadership, Taco Bell enjoyed five consecutive years of same store sales and profit growth to become the second most profitable restaurant brand in the U.S. and the nation's leading Mexican-style quick service restaurant chain.   

Before joining the Yum! family, Brolick was with Wendy's International Inc. for 12 years, lastly serving as Senior Vice President, New Product Marketing, Research & Strategic Planning. He is credited as being one of the primary architects of Wendy's 1988 turnaround, which helped produce 14 consecutive years of same store sales growth.  

A graduate of the University of Detroit, Brolick holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Economics. Emil and his wife, Maureen, have three children. When he is not working, Emil enjoys the arts, golfing, self-education and fitness activities. 

In its 2012 Philanthropy 400 report, The Chronicle of Philanthropy placed Boys & Girls Clubs of America in the No. 1 position among youth organizations for the 19th consecutive year.
