Nationally recognized as a leader in the Boys & Girls Club Movement, Kevin is known for his ability to keep perspective of “what’s best for kids” while establishing community partnerships that ensure sustainability. He has been a Boys & Girls Club Professional since 1983. During this time, Kevin helped to establish new organizations in Tracy, California and Sacramento California, where he was the first Chief Professional Officer at both Clubs. He led both organizations through board development, capital campaigns, construction, program development and facility openings. In the fall of 2000, he accepted the position of Director of Government Relations to help expand the State Alliance efforts in the Pacific Region.
As Vice President of Government Relations, he worked to serve more children through helping to create new public-private partnerships with government agencies and growing the Alliances nationwide.
In June 2007, Kevin joined the team in Washington D.C. to assist on the BGCA federal appropriations and was promoted to Senior Vice President on July 1, 2008 where he now leads the effort on federal and state funding for young people across the country. In 2015, the Government Relations team generated nearly $138 million for local Clubs.
In November 2015, Kevin took on the critical new role of Senior Vice President, BGCA Pacific-West. In his new role, he supports the ever-growing complexity of a region that covers four time zones, contains more than 1,000 Club locations, and serves as the home of many corporate partners and other key relationships. Kevin is in the process of establishing a new BGCA Western headquarters in Los Angeles, which will be fully staffed to better support continued growth in the West, build capacity for local Clubs, and engage community partners.
Kevin and his wife Debra have two grown children, Sean and Mary Kate, and four grandchildren: Mari, Kate, Emmy, and Liam.
