Northeast Region:  Crystile Carter, an 11-year member of the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx, N.Y.,  has spent countless hours volunteering in the dance program DiverCity. She teaches younger members dance steps and collaborates with the instructor on choreography for the older members, showing them how to adopt active, healthy lifestyles. She is a member of the Keystone Club, a small group leadership activity, and is a proud alumna of a drug and alcohol resistance course known as Youth Empowerment Program. Crystile plans to attain a four-year college degree in criminal justice and hopes to one day work for the New York Police Department.

Southeast Region:  A Club member of Boys & Girls Clubs of West Alabama for five years, Tyler Merriweather is committed to attracting more teen members to his Club and has worked with the staff to implement programs and activities for older youth. He is an active participant in several Club programs including Passport to Manhood, which promotes and encourages responsibility in Club boys, and SMART Moves, a prevention and education program that promotes healthy choices. An honor student, Tyler recently graduated with a 3.9 grade point average and will attend the University of Alabama to study accounting. 

Midwest Region:  A refuge from Thailand, Mai Tong Yang has been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities in Minneapolis for 11 years. Over the years, Mai Tong has taken a lead role in helping others feel at home. She is a strong mentor to younger Club members, assists others with the Power Hour homework help program, serves as president of Keystone Club and works as a junior staff member. She recently graduated from high school with a 3.61 grade point average and plans to attend the College of St. Benedict and major in International Relations.

Southwest Region:  A 10-year member of the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence, Trei Dudley was selected as our national teen representative. Learn more about this outstanding Club teen!

Pacific Region:  A member of the Watts/Willowbrook Boys & Girls Club in Los Angeles for 11 years, Denzell Perry has served as Keystone Club president, and a member of the Junior Staff program. When the Club wanted to promote its College Access Preparation program, he created a website geared toward his peers. Denzell has participated in the Money Matters financial literacy program, and SMART Moves, a program to help young people make good choices. In high school, he was elected class president, belonged to the Black Student Union, and was a student member on the board of education. He plans to attend the University of California, Berkeley, and major in education and pre-law.
