Youth Development Professional Raytrell Caldwell Wins BGCA Award

The secret to every Boys & Girls Club’s success is the passion, caring nature and skills of youth development professionals. Every day, they welcome kids with a smile, ever committed to help every child and teenager achieve their full potential.  As YDP MVP, Raytrell takes home $10,000 for his Club, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Wayne/Johnston Counties in North Carolina. As YDP MVP, he also wins a trip New York City to see Club alum and BGCA National Spokesperson Denzel Washington on Broadway in “The Iceman Cometh.” Congratulations, Raytrell!


Boys Club of Cicero Wins Blue Door Decorating Contest

In its sixth year, the Blue Door Decorating Contest sponsored by Lowe’s provides Clubs the opportunity to use art to illustrate why their Club is a place to become. Club kids from all across the country have decorated blue doors in hopes of winning $20,000 for their Club. 646 Clubs entered the contest and after nearly 30,000 votes,  Boys Club of Cicero’s design “Dream Free” was named the winner.
