Banfield Pet Hospital

To help young people meet the workforce challenges of tomorrow, they need safe spaces, positive mentors and work experiences today. That’s why Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Banfield Pet Hospital are partnering to offer career exploration opportunities to teens.

Careers in the Veterinary Industry

Banfield’s National Partnership supports Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s Workforce Readiness and STEM education opportunities, by introducing Club youth to careers within Veterinary Medicine. We are in Year 2 of our partnership and will complete 20 Employee Engagements across 20 different markets. Banfield was also Gold sponsor of National Keystone Conferece, hosting the “Welcome Reception” in 2022, and will again participate as a Bronze Sponsor for the 2023 partnership.

According to a 2020 study by Banfield Pet Hospital, an estimated 75 million pets in the United States may not have access to the veterinary care they need by 2030, with an important factor being a critical shortage of veterinarians. Further, with nearly 90% of veterinary professionals identifying as white according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the need to not only increase the number of veterinary professionals in the United States but also diversify the talent pipeline is a critical focus area for the industry.
