Committed to Supporting Healthy Outcomes for Native Youth

Native Services Logo

This national partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing progress for Indigenous communities, with a focus on expanding Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s capacity to serve a greater number of Native youth. By integrating physical health, trauma-informed care and emotional wellness programs, the union aims to improve access to healthcare and drive greater equity within Native communities. This collaboration also seeks to advance trauma-informed care and emotional wellness programs within each Native Club supported.

With the support of BMO, Boys & Girls Clubs of America will be able to incorporate trauma-informed practices in Native Clubs across California by creating and implementing resources to integrate trauma-informed strategies. Boys & Girls Clubs of America will increase staff awareness and skills through trauma-informed professional development, adapted specifically for Native youth. BMO’s support will also allow Boys & Girls Clubs of America to adapt existing trauma-informed training, webinars and resources that focus on building Native young people’s social-emotional development skills and equip them to navigate challenging experiences. Thanks to BMO’s generous support, BGCA’s Native Clubs will be the first cohort to complete a specialized, trauma-informed training program tailored to address the unique needs of Native communities.
