JCPenney and JCPenney Foundation have been partners of BGCA for over 25 years, supporting after-school programs and military services to help young people reach their full potential.        

Learning Lounges and Customer Service Training  

JCPenney and JCPenney Foundation are committed to helping children succeed by keeping them safe, healthy and engaged beyond the classroom. Over the last several years, JCPenney has allowed customers to round up at the registers, raising millions for more than 500 Clubs around the country.  In addition, JCPenney partners with BGCA to provide gift cards to each of our state, regional and National Youth of the Year winners to help them dress for success.  JCPenney also invited more than 500 Club members to shop for themselves and their loved ones during the holidays as part of #GivingTuesday. 

In 2016, JCPenney and Scholastic partnered with Club staff and youth members to design JCPenney Learning Lounges, a dedicated space where youth engage in innovative programming that can ignite their passion for academics. JCPenney Learning Lounges provide Club kids and teens with an inviting place where they can engage in hands-on learning opportunities that complement and reinforce what they learn in school. 

In 2017, JCPenney Foundation and BGCA will open the door and empower teens on their journey to a great future by preparing them for the workforce.  In partnership with SkillsUSA, JCPenney and JCPenney Foundation will pilot a Customer Service Training Program at 10 Boys & Girls Clubs for 500 teens, training them to be ready to enter the workforce. The goal will be to grow the number of sites and teens impacted over the next three years.
