RTX

For over a decade RTX has partnered with Boys & Girls Clubs through high-quality programming, making STEM learning more accessible and fun for kids and teens.

Opportunity, Inspiration and Capability

Since partnering in 2015, RTX has helped spark interest in STEM among Boys & Girls Club youth. From creating Centers of Innovation at BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers that serve military families, to funding dedicated STEM staff and offering employee mentorship, RTX has opened doors to opportunities for kids to engage in STEM.

Today, RTX and BGCA partner to help expose more young people to STEM careers and leaders through high-quality in-person and virtual experiences. Through this work, we strive to champion diverse aspiring scientists, innovators, engineers, mathematicians and other STEM professionals by providing Club Kids with skill-building opportunities and inspiration to lead tomorrow’s workforce.

RTX’s investment in Boys & Girls Clubs also supports a 3-year STEM Club Model Study, a research-based study that will examine the effectiveness of Boys & Girls Clubs’ STEM interventions on youth.

DIY STEM

In 2021, RTX and BGCA launched a new partnership to enhance STEM programming and exposure across Boys & Girls Clubs with the rewrite and launch of BGCA’s new DIY STEM curriculum and increasing STEM career exploration. Through experiences that spark STEM career excitement, we are highlighting diverse leaders in STEM fields with whom youth from similar backgrounds can relate to. Our goal is to prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM — removing barriers to success for millions of kids who may not receive the same opportunities as their peers.

STEM Centers for Innovation

STEM Centers of Innovation

Early partnership between BGCA and RTX (through the former Raytheon Technologies) supported the outfitting of 22 STEM Centers of Innovation, established to empower youth in military families on the path to great futures with science, technology, engineering and math learning. These centers provided military-connected youth with access to advanced technologies that stimulate creative approaches to STEM exploration, including 3-D printers, robotics, high-definition video production and conferencing equipment along with a fully dedicated STEM educator to offer individual and group support.
