The Cigna Group Foundation
The Cigna Group Foundation is helping young people gain access to critical programs that will help them build healthy coping strategies to manage stress and trauma in a supportive, constructive environment.
Improving Youth Mental Health
Through a two-year, $1 million commitment, The Cigna Group Foundation is supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of America in expanding our trauma-informed strategy. This partnership will help Club staff to better identify the signs and symptoms of youth in distress, equip them with non-clinical tools to navigate crisis situations and educate them on existing resources. At the onset of its partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, The Cigna Group Foundation supported the development of a Mental Health Teen Guide to help Club staff facilitate open, age-appropriate conversations with teens around mental health, coping strategies and learning when to seek help. To deepen their commitment to youth mental health, The Cigna Group Foundation backed the development of The Behavior Support Toolkit, an evolving resource that equips Club leaders with effective youth behavior management strategies and best practices. Additionally, through volunteer engagement opportunities such as homework help, career panels, tutoring, coaching, building mental health kits, leading activities and more, this partnership provides meaningful experiences for both The Cigna Group volunteers and Boys & Girls Clubs in key markets nationwide.

We also work together to identify volunteer engagement opportunities at Clubs in key markets for employees of The Cigna Group to provide meaningful experiences for both The Cigna Group volunteers and our Clubs. Some examples of volunteer engagement opportunities include homework help, career panels, tutoring, coaching, building mental health packs, leading activities and more.
