Kids and teens need Boys & Girls Clubs like never before:

Kids spend 80% of their time out of school. Everyday 7.7 million kids and teens are alone and unsupervised after school while nearly 25 million don’t have access to after-school programs.

Research shows that out-of-school time programs work. Kids and teens who attend after-school and summer programs have better attendance, improved behavior, higher grades and test scores.

Afterschool programs like Boys & Girls Clubs are proven to provide the academic support and enrichment needed to combat learning loss and academic disruption.

The average cost of school supplies is $529 per child, putting a burden on many struggling families. Students who don’t begin the school year prepared can fall behind quickly.

For more than 160 years, Boys & Girls Clubs have been leaders in youth development during out-of-school time.

Every year, more than 5,000 Clubs nationwide provide over 3.6 million kids a safe place for younger children to play, grow and learn, while providing teens their own space to explore their individual voice and the activities that inspire their dreams and passions.

More than 17 million youth in the United States are experiencing hunger – 6 million more than before the pandemic – with nearly 1 in 5 families living without enough to eat.

Youth of color are twice as likely as white kids to face hunger in their lifetime.

Clubs help kids stay fed, fueled and focused.

Boys & Girls Clubs want to ensure all kids and teens have access to the necessary supplies and a supportive afterschool learning environment to succeed in school and achieve a great future.
