“Agents of change find inspiration from adversity. The ‘problem’ before you is your opportunity to inspire that change in your community on any scale. I truly believe that a leader serves the purpose and goal of the team and I hope to inspire MY team."
Cecilia overcame many heartbreaking challenges at a young age before becoming a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas. From financial struggles to homelessness, physical abuse to not having enough to eat, Cecilia and her five younger siblings found their safe haven at the Club while their mother worked two jobs. At the Club, Cecilia thrived and participated in numerous activities, all while taking care of her siblings. At school, she was also busy, serving as Interact Club President, Student Council Vice President and Secretary, World Affairs Club Officer, Art Club Officer, and playing softball.
