“Inclusivity of diverse backgrounds is not about being politically correct and taking affirmative action. It is about employing all resources of different perspectives and unique experiences to achieve the highest quality in our academic environments, workplaces and government.”
Afterschool and summer learning programs provide a safe space for kids, encourage and enrich learning opportunities and are a lifeline for working families. Help kids like Isabella by encouraging Congress to invest in afterschool programs.
Isabella and her family were on the move since she was born, with the Youth Center supporting them through nine relocations. She knew no matter where she went, a Youth Center would be waiting with open arms and a warm welcome.
Isabella credits the Youth Center for her development into a resilient, well-rounded community leader. Her work ethic and vision to learn international policy and law led to recognition as an AP Scholar with Honor Award. In six years as a Civil Air Patrol member, she earned several promotions and finished as a Lt. Colonel. Isabella attends the U.S. Air Force Academy and plans to become a diplomat.
