BGCA and United Health Foundation are proud to provide military-connected families with the Better Together Family Wellness Tool. It will help families develop a plan to build collaborative communication strategies and integrate two to three weekly or monthly family activities.
In 1991, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the U.S. Armed Forces partnered to help children of military families face the unique challenges of military life. Today, this enduring partnership continues to provide children of military personnel with critical youth development programs and activities, giving families the vital support they need.
Every year, some 500 BGCA-affiliated Youth Centers on U.S. military installations worldwide provide more than 460,000 youth with the same high-quality programs and curriculums that traditional Boys & Girls Clubs provide. In addition, one-year, no-cost memberships are provided to children of the approximately 70 percent of families who live outside military installations. In 2012, more than 18,000 military youth were served by nearly 1,300 traditional Clubs.
BGCA is proud of our partnership with the U.S. Armed Forces. Please take a moment to meet some of our current and former Club members who are affiliated with the U.S. military. Their stories illustrate the value of Boys & Girls Clubs in our military communities and beyond.
