To empower Native youth and expand the reach of Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) Native Services in underserved Native communities, the Bezos Family Foundation is supporting the expansion and implementation of the Think, Learn, Create Change (TLC) + GROW project in Native Clubs. This partnership aims to enhance youth advocacy and leadership, while expanding access to out-of-school programs for Native youth.
Empowering Native Youth Voice & Expanding Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s National Footprint
By investing in BGCA’s Native Services over three years, the Bezos Family Foundation is committed to fostering the development of Native youth by providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to become empowered leaders and engaged community members. This partnership with the Bezos Family Foundation is instrumental in ensuring that Native youth have access to quality programs that promote civic learning, advocacy, and leadership through the TLC + GROW project.
The TLC component focuses on adapting and expanding BGCA’s existing programs to better serve Native youth. By tailoring the TLC model and Youth Advocacy Toolkit specifically for Native communities, BGCA will aim to empower young people to engage in meaningful advocacy within tribal, local, state and national governments.
The GROW aspect of the initiative is dedicated to expanding BGCA’s reach by establishing new Native Club Organizations across the country. BGCA plans to open new Clubs in partnership with tribes, broadening our impact in underserved Native communities. This strategic growth will be guided by the identification of potential new Club Organizations, with the goal of steadily increasing the number of Native Clubs each year through 2026.
