Friends and Fall – Surviving Sophomore Year

Sophomore year of college can be a lot. At my school, sophomores move into upperclassmen housing, get jobs, take on leadership roles and join social clubs. All of this seems to add an exponential amount of work, stress, new emotions and responsibilities to anyone’s plate, including mine.

However, through this whole semester, I’ve had eight of my closest friends, who also happen to be my suitemates, right by my side.

We all come from different backgrounds but connect on many different but similar levels. I know I can turn to them if I need to help with physics problem sets, if I need to rant, or if I just want to have fun.

At the beginning of the semester we all took to a trip to Newbury St. in Boston to escape the “Harvard Bubble.” We visited the Prudential Center – one of the landmarks of Boston, went shopping at the mall, checked out cool restaurants and cafes, and saw the sights near Copley Square.

My suitemates are the people I can turn to anytime for any reason. They say the friends you make in college are like none other and I can definitely confirm this. Through good and bad times friends are there for you, and I know that the best part of my day is always coming back to them in my dorm. At the end of a long day or a hard week, seeing them is the best therapy out there.
