Gap Inc. has supported Boys & Girls Clubs for many decades. Twenty years ago, Gap Foundation and Boys & Girls Clubs partnered to develop CareerLaunch, a program designed to prepare teens for the working world. In 2014, Gap Stores began their retail partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs, fundraising in-store to help give youth the opportunity for a great future. Building off of the passion of its founder, Don Fisher, Gap has committed itself to serving youth in need, raising almost 4 million dollars in the last four years.
CareerLaunch serves Club teens 13-18 years old who embark on a journey to explore careers, make sound educational decisions and find success in the world of work. Available to more than 2,700 Clubs across the nation, the program incorporates a strong mentoring element with practical resources teens can use. Participants can build skills that will help them get a job today, while researching school and career options for future success. CareerLaunch provides an excellent volunteer opportunity for Gap employees across the country to work with their local Boys & Girls Clubs. Simple and effective, CareerLaunch is a great tool that allows volunteers to share their knowledge and experience with teens in their communities, letting them imagine what their future could be while helping them take steps to get there. Gap employees interested in volunteering should visit the Gap Volunteer Resources page.
