Unlocking Students’ Full Potential with “Ready for School”

Ready for School is Raymond James’ holistic education initiative designed to help students prepare for brighter futures by investing time, resources and expertise so learners can achieve their goals inside and outside the classroom.

As part of this community impact program, Raymond James is providing multi-year grants to 9 Boys & Girls Club markets, expanding their capacity to offer high quality out-of-school time engagement. This partnership directly contributes to the Ready for School mission of growing the number of independent readers by third grade and the number of students proficient in algebra by ninth grade.

Supporting Academic Excellence Through Project Learn

Raymond James’ investment in Project Learn reinforces the academic enrichment and school engagement of young people during critical out-of-school time. Project Learn incorporates educational activities into all aspects of the Club experience, creating opportunities for youth to engage in high-yield learning activities, develop strong study habits, and receive homework help from caring adult mentors.

By supporting Project Learn, Raymond James is helping kids and teens in build positive attitudes about learning, increase their academic confidence, and improve their overall academic performance.

Aligned with Raymond James’ Ready for School community impact program, this partnership will enable more Club Kids to become independent readers by the end of third grade through daily high-yield learning, literacy-rich activities and caring adult support.

Bridging the Summer Learning Gap

Raymond James and Boys & Girls Clubs of America are also teaming up to strengthen Summer Brain Gain, BGCA’s program to combat summer learning loss among youth. This research-based program provides fun, engaging activities that keep young minds active while helping them maintain academic progress during the summer months.

Summer Brain Gain activities also reinforce literacy and numeracy milestones that set youth up for success in later grades, including ninth grade algebra readiness through hands-on, inquiry-based learning. With Raymond James’ support, more Club Kids can return to school in the fall ready to learn and succeed, effectively narrowing the opportunity gap for those who need it most.
