But we know it takes a lot to make the grade. Boys & Girls Clubs’ evidence-informed academic enrichment programs build on what young people are learning in school and help them discover topics they’re passionate about. By igniting their curiosity and excitement, Clubs help kids stay engaged with what they’re learning and connect their interests to future career paths.

Transforming Youth Education
Project Learn is BGCA’s evidence-based program putting youth at the center of their learning experiences. Through its five pillars, Project Learn enhances students’ academic skills, love of learning, and connections between families, schools and communities.
With over 480,000 annual participants, Project Learn has a proven positive impact on youth when all five pillars are integrated into Clubs, including an 11% increase in overall GPA, 13% increase in math GPA, and 66% decrease in school absences.

Club tutors and mentors work with students in small groups and individually.

Clubs provide hands-on learning opportunities in STEM, art, financial literacy and more.

Spotlight on STEM
Careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) continue to grow. At Boys & Girls Clubs, kids get access to technology and programs that ignite an interest in STEM concepts.
48% of Club youth are interested in pursuing a STEM-related job in the future, including 50% of Black youth and 45% of Hispanic or Latino youth, who are traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields.
79% of Club members are curious to learn more about science, computers and technology.
82% of Club youth say they like to participate in science projects.
