Q&A

What kind of difference do you hope to make while being a part of BGCA’s National Youth Advisory Council?

I aspire to be a voice for youth from smaller Boys & Girls Clubs whose perspectives aren’t always represented. Coming from a smaller Club myself, I understand that access to resources and opportunities can be more limited. While my time on the National Youth Advisory Council may be temporary, I hope to use it to advocate for members from communities like mine and make sure their voices are heard. I want to help create opportunities that allow every young person, no matter the size of their Club, to succeed.

What do you enjoy most about your Club?

What I enjoy most about my Boys & Girls Club is the sense of community and support. It has given me opportunities to grow as a leader, build lasting friendships, and become more confident. My Club is a second home to me, and I’m grateful for the positive impact it has had on my life.

What do you see as your biggest strength?

I believe my greatest strength is my personality and my ability to connect with others. Whenever I enter a room, my goal is to make someone smile and help create a positive environment. I believe that joy is contagious, and even a small act of kindness can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day. By uplifting others, I build genuine relationships and encourage those around me to feel valued and included.
